SENIOR HOUSING PLANNED FOR ST. BERNARD

Plans are going forward for a 42-unit senior housing development in St. Bernard.  This is a HUD-financed 202 senior living center for individuals over the age of 62 years.  Volunteers of America Ohio River Valley received a $4.7 million HUD grant to begin construction of the housing development.  The City of St. Bernard unanimously voted to enter into a sales agreement with Volunteers of America Ohio River Valley for a 1-acre site on the corner of Greenlee and Ross.  Cole and Russell Architectural Firm is completing the design phase.  The senior housing development is expected to break ground in January 2011 with construction completed during the fall of 2011.
